Milled acrylic Lenses for lighting

This magic lamp is made out one single LED strip and thanks to its magnifier elongated lens can increase the amount of light produced and redirect the beam angle of the light. Thus, a more uniformly distributed bright area can be casted on a surface. This lamp is a side effect of a research in optics I started at my time in Foster and Partners, where many prototype lenses were created to with different purposes. The resulting lenses of the research were manufactured by milling acrylic solid pieces. They are now in possession of Foster + Partners where they are exhibited in between their permanent exhibited models and prototypes.
